Headteacher's Welcome

It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you to Northfield Junior School.

Northfield is a happy, nurturing and inclusive school where every child is encouraged to thrive. At the heart of everything we do is our belief that we should "encourage each other to do well", guided by our core values of teamwork, resilience, respect, responsibility, kindness and curiosity.

Northfield Junior School is a ‘warm and caring learning environment’. It is a place where pupils’ needs are nurtured. They relish the social times they share with their friends. As one parent commented: ‘I love that my child is seen as an individual’. Every pupil is known by all staff. Pupils know that adults will listen to their ideas and opinions.

Every member of the Northfield family is committed to providing the very best educational opportunities for our children. We have high expectations, a strong sense of belonging and a determination to ensure that every child feels valued, supported and inspired to achieve their full potential.

Our warm and welcoming school building, together with our extensive grounds, enhances the rich learning experiences we provide. We are also proud to have become an official Forest School in 2025/26, further strengthening our commitment to outdoor learning and helping children develop confidence, resilience and a love of nature.

We believe that the partnership between children, families, staff and governors is fundamental to a successful school. By working together, we create a caring and supportive environment where children can flourish both academically and personally.

We actively encourage parents and carers to become involved in school life through parents' evenings, performances, celebration events and other opportunities to share in their child's learning journey. Our newly formed Parent Teacher Association also plays an important role in supporting the school, and we are always delighted to welcome new members and volunteers.
